Lori turned to yoga almost 15 years ago to escape the pressures of the corporate workplace. After leaving her career at EMI Music, she traveled the world to heal from years of debilitating stress related illnesses. It was in 2011 that she discovered what would become a lifelong compass: Forrest Yoga. Drawn immediately by the focus on alignment, intensity, and breath, Forrest Yoga opened an entirely new doorway to her practice.
After years of living and teaching English in Asia, Lori moved to NYC to work in Film and TV Production. She soon found herself struggling yet again against the demands of a fast paced career. Determined to find balance while maintaining her position in the Entertainment industry, Lori immersed herself in the Forrest Yoga Community, eventually training with Yoga Master and Creatrix of Forrest Yoga, Ana Forrest in Calgary, Canada (RYT 200).
Lori’s diverse background includes teaching English in Asia, traveling and volunteering around the world, and Buddhist studies in Vipassana and Kadampa traditions. With a passion for helping marginalized communities in need, she provides ongoing support to her beloved community in Haiti as a proud Mentor, Fundraiser and Educator. Lori aspires to bring yoga to marginalized communities with limited access to yoga, as well as to fellow full-time office workers wishing to bring more balance to their stressful lives. She is available for privates, corporate events or community center classes.
Born and raised in Kentucky, Lori has spent several years around the globe working, volunteering, and taking photos along the way.
Her favorite places have been the photogenic Tibet, smiling Myanmar, and rugged Egypt.
This collection highlights some of the unforgettable stories of the last 10 years.
